Nuts or No Nuts? That is the question.



    ~~Grandma Sally's Famous Creamy Christmas Fudge~~

These are a few of my favorite things.


3 cups  sugar
1-1/2 sticks butter or margarine ( I use Parkay margarine sticks)
1 small  can (5 oz.) evaporated milk 
1-1/2 packages Nestlé Semi Sweet Morsels (18 oz) 
1 jar (7 oz.) JET-PUFFED Marshmallow Creme
1 cup chopped diamond walnuts (optional)
1 tsp.  vanilla
9-inch square foil pan
In a 3-qt. saucepan on stovetop over medium heat, melt butter, add milk and sugar, stirring constantly with wooden spoon. Bring to a full rolling boil, then lower heat, and continue stirring until candy thermometer reaches 235*F. My secret is I stir constantly for 10 min while it's boiling. The object is to have a smooth creamy fudge, no granules!! Remove from heat. Add morsels, and stir until fully melted, then add vanilla. Quickly add marshmallow cream, and  blend until fudge has a complete milk chocolate look.

Stir in walnuts, and quickly pour in foil pan. Spread to cover whole pan evenly. Let sit at room temperature until cooled completely. I usually cover with wax paper after it cools, and let it sit overnight. Cut into small squares, and enjoy!

No Nuts...But, my favorite fudge is Peanut Butter. Go figure.

Always nuts. Except that I have braces right now. I'm six months in, and Christmas is making it especially hard. All the goodies! And what I wouldn't do for a Snickers bar! LOL.

This fudge sounds great, nuts or not.
